Lucy Gill is a passionate music educator with teaching experience ranging from private lessons to band programs and musical theatre intensives. She has just completed a Bachelor’s degree of Music with a concentration in History, Theory, and Critical Analysis from Wilfrid Laurier University. During her undergrad, Lucy trained in the vocal studio of Kimberly Barber, and she will be returning to Laurier next year for a Diploma in Opera Performance.
Lucy’s previous teaching experiences include working as a private instructor and summer camp leader at the Squamish Academy of Music. She also works for the Laurier SI program, leading Music History sessions.
Lucy is a multi-instrumentalist with experience teaching electric bass, guitar, violin, piano and voice. Within voice, she has trained in multiple disciplines and has performance experience in opera, musical theatre, and jazz. Her teaching philosophy revolves around meeting the students where they are at and exploring the parts of music that bring them joy and excitement. She is also committed to ensuring that, no matter which discipline students are interested in, they develop a foundation of technical skills and musical literacy.
